Welcome to the Irish Ju-Jutsu Kai

We are the Advisory Body for Ju-Jutsu, within the Irish Martial Arts Commission.

We are the Irish Representatives for the Seibukan, a very old Japanes Umbrella Body for the Traditional Martial Arts

We are the Irish Representatives for the Kodo Butoku Renmei, a Traditional Martial Arts Umbrella Body.

Joe Carslake is the Irish representative for the Hanshi no Inkaii a Society of Traditional Martial Arts Masters.

 We are the Irish representatives for the Asahi Dojo International Association, an International Budo Association for the Traditional Martial Arts.

We teach Classical/Traditional Ju-Jutsu. We do not teach Sport Ju-Jitsu, but we have an affiliate who does, if you wish to participate in sport ju-jitsu.

The three Styles we teach are Kyushoshinjitsu Ju-Jutsu, which was researched and developed into its present format by Joe Carslake, with the supervision and great assistance of Yoshie Tanaka Sensei, and Bjarni Hjaralffson Sensei, who trained for 28 years in the Eshojii  Temple in Nara.

The second Style, which is only open to Dan Grade or above, is Kuppuku Yanagi Aiki-Ju-Jutsu, a House Style of close quarter combat.

The third Style is Ni-Kawa, a Gendai Bu-Jutsu format developed by Mark Holland 5th Dan Renshi, and Trevor Carslake 4th Dan Renshi
